Dental Veneers

A veneer is a new front surface for a tooth, custom made from porcelain. Veneers are extremely versatile and can be used to align crowded teeth, to close, gaps, or lighten tooth colour. Their strength and appearance is not unlike your natural teeth and they can really make a huge difference to your smile.

Having a veneer fitted at Bray Dental will usually take three visits. At the first visit you will have an initial consultation where we will examine your mouth, maybe take some x-rays and photos and provide you with a full written treatment plan. At the second visit the tooth/ teeth are prepared and the shades are matched. The veneer is fitted at the third visit.

Your teeth are prepared by removing a very thin layer of enamel from the outer surface of the tooth, so that the veneer can be attached at a later date. An impression of the teeth will be taken and the colours matched on a shade guide.

Depending on the site of the prepared tooth you may need to wear a temporary veneer for about two weeks while your veneer is manufactured at the dental laboratory.
